So you have decided to make your fortune on the Internet, now what? The most important thing you can do is educate yourself. Believe me there is a lot to learn when it comes to Internet marketing. For Example:

Split Ad Testing
Affiliate Marketing Versus Brand Marketing
Lead Capture Systems
Autoresponder Systems
Payment Processors
Writing Effective Ad Copy
Finding Affiliates for Your Product
Developing Your Product

This list could go on and on, but I just wanted to reiterate the importance of educating yourself. This education is a continuous process, you never stop learning. You will make mistakes you just need to pick yourself up and move forward. Now Let’s talk about branding and the importance of brand creation. There are countless Internet Marketers that are content with being Affiliate Marketers. Affiliate Marketing is simply reselling a product or service that was created by someone other than you. There is a lot of money to be made as an Affiliate Marketer, but the bigger money, the bigger name recognition comes from Brand Marketing.

Creating a Brand leads to attracting money! Brand Marketing is “YOU”! You and your product are the Brand. For example, let’s say you have an idea for an educational product called “How To Make Money While You Sleep” In order to make this YOUR BRAND there are a few things you need to do.

Determine which format to distribute your product – Ebook, Website Membership, etc.
Then create or outsource creation of the product
Have your website developed (including Product Images, etc.)
Get Your Autoresponder System
Get Your Ad Copy (Sales Letter) for your website. (Critical to Use an Expert or Learn from the pros) if you do your on ad copy!
Find a Distribution channel for your product – Affiliate programs Like Pay Dot Com or Clickbank. If you are seasoned you can create your on.

If you want to be in control of the entire project then Branding is for you. I recommend branding once you have been an affiliate and understand the entire process more. There is a lot of money to be made, but there is also a lot of money to be lost if you are not prepared!

The Hidden Power of Your Headline…

The secret is out that your headline is one of the power elements of your marketing piece and there seems to be some confusion going around as it relates to the length of headlines. Now there are really two scenarios that play into this question of, “should I use a short or wordy headline”. The first being are you planning to use sub-headlines or not? The second is if you are not using sub-headlines can you convey enough interest with a short headline?

Let’s look at an example using the product a “How To Book” on losing weight. Now we will say that you wrote the book based on your personal experiences. Here are the key elements, you lost 60 pounds in 6 months working out 30 minutes a day. 6 months also relates to 24 weeks which seems shorter than 6 months because your prospect looks at months and thinks, “wow 6 months really that is a long time.” The same prospect will look at 24 weeks and get excited! I know it is crazy, but this is the way our mind has been conditioned to work.

Here is an example headline with no sub-headline:

“Lose 60 Pounds In 30 Minutes”

I promise you the prospect is thinking No Way and they will continue to read your ad copy to see what the catch is to this. They might even start saying to themselves, “sure you did with Liposuction!” But either way they are gonna continue reading to your ad. Now your ad copy may lose them, but that is a post for another day.

Here is an example headline with a sub-headline:

“How I Was Able To Lose 60 Pounds In 30 Minutes”

Are You Tired Of Battling The Bulge While Continuing To Watch Your Health Decline? Is Your Family Growing Concerned About Your Life Expectancy? Let Me Give You The Secrets I Used To Melt 60 Pounds of Ugly Unwanted Fat Off In Only 24 Weeks!

Notice how we utilized the two key elements all advertising should include? Pain VS Pleasure

We talked about the pain that being overweight causes and then we gave them pleasure revealing a snippet of how they can melt it off in a relatively short period of time. So to answer the initial question you can use both short and long headlines, the key is to use them effectively.

Hello World! Here we are starting yet another blog, but this one is the last one I promise! This will be our home going forward. I have learned trying to run to many blogs can get overwhelming! So if you are following any of our other blogs, please remove them and bookmark this one.
